Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
When you come to Jesus in answer to the call, “Come to me,” you must put His yoke on your neck.
Jesus’ cart is empty. And He asks you to pull together with Him. When you are walking hand in hand with Jesus, and side by side with Him, the weight becomes lighter. You will find that the burden is removed, the way is made clear, and you can go on your way peacefully.
Just today, I had to deal with a matter that I knew I couldn’t handle on my own. I knew if I tried to do it on my own, it may end up disastrous. So I trusted the Lord. I prayed, “Lord, I can’t do this on my own. Please help me, Holy Spirit.” The Lord gave me the moment; the opportunity, the right words to say, and the correct questions to ask. Everything went extremely well. The result was marvelous.
However, before anything happened I spent the most part of the day bringing this to the Lord. That is having Him pull together with me. I yoked myself to Jesus; brought Him into the situation through my prayers, and the burden was made light and easy because He carried it with me. You can do the same, friend.
1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
John 14:13-14, “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 16:24, “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
Ask Him! Bring Him into your situation – any situation. He is willing and able to carry your burdens with you and to make a way where there seems to be no way.
In Christ and in His service,
